What a small-business website quote includes, and what changes the price

What belongs in a local website quote, what Flowpoint’s $1,200 starting price covers, what is quoted separately, and which scope choices change the final number.

Help a local owner see what belongs in a website quote, what changes the price, and what is scoped as a different project.

A website quote should tell you what you are buying, what is not included, and what would raise the price. It should not be a round number with the details filled in later.

Flowpoint website builds start at $1,200, billed as a one-time project starting price. That number is for a scoped local-business site. Larger work with custom content, integrations, ecommerce, or heavier strategy is quoted after discovery. It is not a monthly website fee, and it is not a promise that every site costs $1,200.

What a useful quote includes

On Flowpoint’s website design page, a scoped build includes a site plan and page structure, design and copy direction, responsive development, SEO basics (titles, headings, and internal links), accessibility and performance checks, plus contact forms, analytics setup, and launch support.

The published Website Build package says the same thing in pricing language: a custom site scoped to your offer and next step, mobile-first layout and core accessibility basics, foundational SEO on launch pages, a lead form, phone, booking, or visit path, and launch support with handoff notes.

  • pages and page types, named before work starts
  • the next step you want (call, form, booking, or visit)
  • copy and design direction, not a blank template dump
  • SEO basics on the pages that launch
  • form, phone, or booking setup that actually works on a phone
  • analytics setup and a launch handoff

What is not inside the website quote

The one-time build does not include ongoing monthly updates. That is Website Care (from $499/month, three-month minimum) or a retainer, scoped separately. Care is optional after launch. It is not a full custom website, not unlimited edits, and not ads management.

  • full local SEO or ads management, unless those are written into a different scope
  • unlimited post-launch edits
  • ad spend (billed to your ad accounts when ads are in play)
  • ranking, lead, or revenue guarantees

If you need a new site plus light support after launch, Website + Local Foundation combines the build starting price with monthly support from $499/month. That is still two prices, not one all-in monthly website fee.

What changes the price

These are the published factors that move a project off the starting price. They are not market averages, and they are not a calculator. They are the questions a quote has to answer.

  • number of pages and page types
  • copy and content help
  • brand assets and visual direction
  • booking, contact, and quote forms
  • Google Business Profile and foundational local SEO setup
  • integrations, ecommerce, or advanced functionality
  • analytics and conversion tracking
  • ongoing support after launch

Timeline, revision rounds, hosting, domain ownership, and how many existing pages migrate are not published as fixed allowances on this site. Those terms belong in the written agreement for your project, not in a generic article.

A real project is often more than the website line

The published Dynamic Fine Arts Academy story is a useful comparison, not a price example. We do not publish what that project cost.

Observable on the delivered site: a website rebuild structured around programs and a clear inquiry path (age, program, teacher, schedule).

Also in the published scope, and not the same as a website quote: paid ads, lead capture, follow-up routing, and tracking. If a vendor’s “website quote” quietly bundles those, you cannot compare it to a $1,200 starting build.

Client-reported, from Jessica N.’s approved quote: more qualified inquiries, faster response times, and higher class fill than before the work. Those lines are the client’s words. They are not Flowpoint-measured organic-search results.

What to do next

If you already know you need a site, discuss your project. That is the path for a written scope and starting price that match your pages and next step.

If you are unsure whether the current site can be repaired, read repair versus rebuild. The free website audit is optional if you want a written scan first.
