Should we repair our current website or rebuild it?
A practical way to decide whether your local site needs copy and path repairs or a rebuild with a page plan, redirects, and launch checks.
Diagnostic focus:
Help a local owner decide whether to repair the current website or rebuild it, before buying a full redesign.

You do not automatically need a full rebuild. You need a decision: can this site still do the job with focused fixes, or is the foundation working against you?
Flowpoint’s published position is the same on website rebuilds: not every site needs a full rebuild. We review the current site and recommend focused improvements when they can meet the goal.
Repair is enough when the structure still works
Start here if you can still add or edit pages, forms submit, and the URL set roughly matches how you sell. The work is then copy, layout, and the path to call, book, or inquire.
- the homepage does not say what you do, who it is for, and what to do next
- the mobile call or form path is easy to miss, but it works when you find it
- a few service pages are thin or missing, and the CMS can add them
- contact details, hours, or service areas are wrong, and you can correct them
- the design looks dated, but customers can still complete the next step
Those jobs often live in a scoped website design update or in Website Care for small edits. They are not a reason to throw away URLs that still help people find you.
Rebuild when the foundation is the constraint
A rebuild is the better quote when the business has outgrown the site, important pages or forms are hard to use, or the platform prevents the updates you need.
- you cannot add a service, location, or brand page without a developer fight
- forms, menus, or layouts break on phones in a way patches will not hold
- the page set, services, and contact paths no longer match the business
- you are stacking landing pages on a structure that cannot present services or take inquiries cleanly
What a rebuild includes, and what it protects
A Flowpoint rebuild review covers existing pages, content, and contact forms; a page plan for what stays, changes, or merges; updated design and copy direction; responsive development with SEO and accessibility basics; redirects for URLs that change; and testing of forms, links, analytics, and mobile layouts before launch.
- keep useful public URLs when we can; changes are documented, not accidental
- plan redirects when a URL must move, so inbound links have a target
- do not wipe indexable content without a replacement plan
Search rankings can change. We plan URLs, redirects, metadata, and launch checks to reduce disruption. We do not guarantee that rankings stay the same.
Website builds, including smaller rebuilds, start at $1,200 as a one-time starting price. Larger rebuilds are quoted after discovery. See what a website quote includes for the price drivers and what sits outside the build.
A simple decision example
A retailer with a working CMS, a working contact form, and a homepage that still talks about last year’s offer: repair. Rewrite the first screen, fix the mobile next step, add the missing service or product page.
A service business whose template cannot add pages, whose quote form fails on a phone, and whose URLs still describe services they no longer offer: rebuild. Start with a page plan, then design, then redirects and launch checks.
That example is a decision lens, not a named client result and not a timeline.
What a shipped rebuild looks like
The published Northern Star Homes story is a website rebuild you can inspect. Observable on the live site: homepage, floor-plan gallery, process pages, and an inquiry path that asks what the buyer is planning. We do not publish a testimonial or outcome numbers for that project.
Dynamic Fine Arts Academy is also a website rebuild, plus ads, capture, routing, and tracking. Treat the extra lanes as extra scope. Jessica N.’s approved quote reports more qualified inquiries, faster replies, and higher class fill. That is client-reported, not a measured organic-search lift.
What to do next
If you already want a human read of repair versus rebuild, discuss your project. The free website audit is optional if you want a scan before that conversation.
Starting prices and monthly care sit on pricing. Scope is agreed in writing before work starts.
